Improvements to the Site?

With the lemons difficulties of last year mostly behind us, it’s time to look ahead at the vast canvas that is 2025 and ask ourselves: how can we make this site even better, techincally speaking?

We’ve made hundreds of big and small improvements since the launch of PissPlay.com in 2020, yet there’s always room for improvement.

So today we’re passing the mic to you: how can we make this site even better? Are there some features you’re dying to see? Are there any frustrations you have, bugs you found? If you could improve a few areas of the site, what would they be?

A little explanation of each:

Streaming:
How is our streaming video host working out for you? Would you like it to stream faster? Or be higher quality?

Downloads:
Do you ever wish you could download lower-resolution (much smaller) files instead of the 1080p? Or would you instead prefer even higher quality files?

⚠️ Update (Feb 12, 2025)

Seems a lot of you want higher quality downloads as an option, so we’ve been looking at how we could do that technically with our existing video hosting providers 😇. This is not as simple as it would seem since neither of them support 4K or even high bitrate 1080p out of the box but we’re talking about various possible solutions. This is a big project so it may take a while but when there’s a will there’s a way (we hope)! 🤞

Video trailers for members:
I (Morgan) put a lot of effort every week making little 15 second trailers that give a good preview of what each video is about, but they’re only visible to non-members currently. Perhaps making them visible to members would make it easier to decide whether a video is worth watching or not?

✅ Done (Feb 9, 2025)

Not only do we now have a “Play Trailer” button (next to “Download”) on each video page, there is also a “watch trailer” button that appears when you mouse over any video thumbnail!

The trailer opens right on top of the current page so clicking on the “close” button (or “ESC” on the keyboard) when you’re done watching takes you back to where you were instantly. What’s more, using the left/right arrows cycles through all of the trailers in the page, so you can quickly watch a bunch of them to decide which video to watch 😊

Sorting tools:
Our videos have always been sorted by date (most recent first), but with our growing library of content this is starting to be limiting. We could add additional options (ex: “Most Popular”) to make it easier and faster to find the cream of the crop.

✅ Done (Jan 28, 2025)

You can now select “Popular” instead of “Latest” in any of the lists: Videos, Photosets and Blog Posts. This changes the sort order, showing you the most popular content first (based on number of thumbs-up, views etc).

“Like” button on comments:
To show your approval for someone else’s comment – would be especially useful for the comments on this page, actually!

The usual caveat apply – we’re a two person team, so we can only focus on a few things at time. But with your help we can make sure the things we focus on are what will most please the majority of you!
